I was talking to a fellow who organizes a scifi con. It takes place at a hotel and that means the event must make money … or else bad things happen. There was an anime convention in the last five years, where the event was shutdown by the hotel, because they weren’t paid. Yikes. Being a library event, that’s not really a problem. But what does this need? Game masters and publicity to bring players. And how does one get game masters? Publicity. Soooo, the long and the short of this event is reaching out to all kinds of groups, game companies, and people. Promote, promote, promote. If I had a big hotel bill to worry about, that might be onerous. As it is, the process is pretty good fun.
